Michael W. Wright didn’t just walk into JCJ Law Group fresh out of law school: he stormed in with three decades of battle scars from the front lines of federal prosecution. Before joining our team, Michael spent 30 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in Houston, Miami, and the District of Columbia, as well as at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and Houston. He’s tried roughly 75 cases, argued before the D.C. Circuit and the Court of Appeals, and put more than a few corrupt officials, including a federal probation officer, a chief of police, a judge, and even a mayor, exactly where they belonged.
Michael’s specialty? Litigation. All kinds of it. But he has a particular soft spot for medical litigation, which makes him a perfect fit for the fights we take on here. He’s not here to shuffle paper around: he’s here to take on giants and win.
As a federal prosecutor, Michael wore more hats than most people own, including as the Criminal Chief, Chief of the Narcotics Section, Chief of the Major Crimes Section, and Regional Director of the Southwest Region. He even served as the Acting Director of the OCDETF Fusion Center in (OFC) in Merrifield, Virginia, the country’s top law enforcement intelligence-sharing hub targeting the most dangerous transnational criminal organizations on the planet. There, he led 200 professionals from 24 different agencies, managing a database with over 800 million records. Translation: this guy knows how to run a high-stakes operation and still get results.
Before the DOJ, Michael served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, working on projects most people only read about in defense briefings: classified intelligence systems, the Space Shuttle Main Engines, Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, and NASA’s Space Station.
Michael graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, earned his MBA from Pepperdine University, and capped it off with a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School, where he was a member of the Cornell Law Review.
Now, Michael brings the same “failure is not an option” mindset that defined his military and DOJ career to the clients of JCJ Law Group. If your case needs a steady hand, a sharp mind, and a litigator who’s not afraid to swing hard, you want Michael in your corner.
